Improving on the most successful rifle in the history of field target competition has given Air Arms quite a task, but we have achieved it with the 'Evolution 2'. The pre-production evaluation model is shown above. Over the past few months the Ev2 has been evaluated by our team members and other shooters and is now ready for production. Why Evolution 2 ? The short answer is that work on Evolution 1 started about two and a half years ago and when the mock-up was presented to some team members for initial comments, the general consensus was that it was too radical. So we incorporated some of the ideas from Ev1 into a less radical design, Ev2 is the result. Side lever cocking action. New firing valve system for increased efficiency and consistency. Direct pellet-into-breech loading. Fixed cylinder with quick release filling valve. Under-stock pressure gauge. Re-styled and lighter stock. Fully adjustable shoulder pad. Adjustable cheek piece. Adjustable fore-end. Swing-out sighting level. Swing-out windage indicator mount. Right handed stock. Comes with hard case and test certificate. O/A length 1040mm (nominal). Caliber 4.5mm(.177"). Barrel Length 485mm Stock Coated. Weight 4.75kg. Std power 12ft/lbs. Loading Side Lever. Shots per 200bar fill 100 (estimated). Maximum filling pressure 200 bar (2900 psi).
